God has made us a for purpose blog post

I know, it’s been a minute. I believe that this is a season of alignment and a fresh surrender to God, where He is calling us to resubmit ourselves to His purpose again and to His assignments for our lives. I am reminded that, as Christians, we are called into a different kingdom than the world, and this kingdom belongs to God. He is the One who is Lord of it, and He is the One who is building it. But we are invited to join in His program and be part of it.

There is one thing that is required, though, and that is total surrender to His plan.

We are in a season where God is ending some things for many. For many, God has literally intervened in your plans and stopped them because they were not a part of His plan for you. You may not understand why God so clearly shut the door, but that’s because He has made you for a purpose. He has specific work for you to do, and His hand is on you to ensure that you will fulfil it.

And don’t be mistaken — it’s not that we don’t have free will, because we do, and He does let us choose — but there are consequences if we choose to go a different path. And it’s not that God is so dependent on you that without us He can’t fulfil what He intends, because God can easily find somebody else willing to pick up the assignment. But it is the mercy of God that keeps you in His will. Even though it may be painful now, one day you will thank God that He shut the door so you can focus on what He has for you.

For others, it is simply the end of a season, which can be painful, so take the time to grieve over the season, but do not get stuck in it. God has something else for you. Some things are temporary, and yes, you may have enjoyed them, but it’s time to let go and shift to the next thing God has for you.

I believe that we are at a threshold where God is literally making deals with people. If you want this, this is what you need to do; if you don’t, things won’t happen the way God intended. There is a price to be paid, and God is asking, will you pay the price?

God reminded me of a story in the book of Ruth, where Boaz met with the elders at the gate to enquire about Ruth. He asked the nearest relative if he wanted the land; he said yes, but Boaz said that with the land comes the widow Ruth — do you still want it? And he refused, so Boaz could do it. Yes, God lets us choose our paths, but not every path will lead to what God has for us. He asks us to count the cost and choose which way we will go.

It is a time when God is asking us to lay down our plans at His feet again and surrender to Him and what He wants to do in the next season. He wants you to be part of it and to use you for His purposes. Remember, the work is not ours; it is His, and we are just His servants and labourers on this earth. No matter what it is that God has called you to do — whether it’s business, ministry, family, or charity — it belongs to Him. We are only stewards over it. Oh, may He find us faithful and trustworthy with what He has given us.

Some things may be ending, but others are beginning. For many, the pain that you are feeling right now is actually birthing pains for something else that God wants you to do in the new season. So embrace it, and partner with the Holy Spirit to birth out the new season He has for you. Don’t linger in the pain for too long, but use it to push out the baby. Don’t keep your gaze on it for too long or get stuck in it; keep moving forward with the Holy Spirit.

He has made you for a purpose, and He needs you in your role and position. People suffer and don’t receive what God intended them to have because we are not in our positions and because we are not doing what God has called us to do. This really strikes me — to know that someone else may be suffering because of my disobedience. Some people are delayed and not in their positions because we were not where we were supposed to be. Can you imagine? I don’t know about you, but this is good enough motivation for me to ensure that I follow God’s leading and that I am walking with the Holy Spirit hand in hand — not too fast, not too slow, but just at the right pace.

Remember, it’s about His kingdom, not ours. It’s His blueprint and assignment, so we don’t always have a say. God is looking for a people who will lay down their lives for Him — a people who will seek His kingdom before their own plans. Because what does it profit a person to gain the whole world and lose their soul? Trust me, you do lose yourself when you flow with the world, because it is being ruled by the enemy — there is no question about it.

The world and God’s kingdom are two different realms, and we need to submit ourselves to God’s rule and not the enemy’s. The world is run by lust, fear, trauma, hurt, pain, pride of life, greed, worldly riches, the flesh, and pleasure. The kingdom of God is run by peace, love, joy, faith, sacrifice, healing, restoration, forgiveness of sin, submission, order, righteousness, and redemption.

As Christians, we are to separate ourselves from the world and submit ourselves to God’s kingdom because light and darkness have nothing in common. I believe that God is calling many Christians to come out of the world on another level and focus on God and His agenda because God has work for us to do.

People are dying every day and going to hell. People suffer silently, and there is no one reaching out to help. Principalities and evil powers are running their show, and there is no one to stand in the gap, intercede, and cancel these evil assignments. God needs spiritual warriors to stop what the enemy is doing. God needs workers to gather His harvest and reach souls because God wants souls to be saved. God needs people who will partner with Him, His purposes, and His agenda.

We need to be in a place where we are okay with laying it all down and being focused on His agenda. We need to be in a place where we obey quickly and do not argue or feel the need to have a say about every instruction we receive from God, or come up with dozens of excuses as to why it would not work. All He needs is obedience and close proximity to ensure that we are following the blueprint as required.

But it all starts in the secret place and a personal relationship with God. Ensure that you are spending time with Him daily, that you have the discipline to pray and study the Bible daily, and that you develop a relationship with the Lord and truly know Him. This is the place where He will teach you and train you before He sends you out, because He needs vessels that are strong in Him and prepared for the assignments and His purpose.

So if you are still not sure what it is that God wants you to do, my encouragement is that you start in His presence. Seek Him and pursue Him, and as you get to know Him or go deeper with Him — depending on where you are with Him — He will reveal His plans for you and guide you on how to get there.

And if you haven’t started your journey with God yet and don’t know that God has made you for a purpose, I can assure you that He has a plan for your life on this earth and He does want to use you. But before that, He truly desires to have a relationship with you, and He wants you to know Him. To do that, you have to acknowledge that you are a sinner and need a Saviour, who is Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for your sins so that you can be forgiven and made righteous in God’s eyes and freely come to Him. Once you acknowledge your sins, invite Him into your heart, and receive His Holy Spirit, I would encourage you to spend time with Him daily, read the Bible, and find a good Bible-based church. In this way, you will grow in your faith and learn about His purpose for your life.

Do message me if you did that — I would love to hear from you!

I hope that this post encouraged you to realign yourself with God’s purpose or continue on the journey as you are birthing a new season. The goal is to be useful and fruitful in what God has called us to do.

Stay blessed.
