PURPOSESPIRITUAL WARFARE

Many people are in spiritual warfare right now because of what God wants to do in their lives. God is advancing many and moving them to the next level, not necessarily because of them, but because of the agenda He has on the Earth. He needs His people in their positions. And today, God wants to encourage His people who are passing through the waters and through the fire.

God reminded me of Isaiah 43:2 today and told me so clearly, "You will not be swept away by the waters; I am with you." Later, He told me that this is not only for me but for other people too. This is the Bible verse:

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. (Is. 43:2)

Here, He promises us that no matter what we are going through, He is always with us. No matter how badly the waters are raging and how much it may look like we will drown, they don’t have the power to overcome us because the One who is in us is stronger than the one who is in the world. God is holding the line, and the enemy can’t cross it. God is still in control. He knows what the enemy is throwing at us, but He is not moved because He is greater than any powers of hell.

God’s Authority

Jesus has the greatest authority, and He stands above any principalities or powers that may want to stand against us. He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and we are seated with Him in the heavenly places. He has already won the victory and has triumphed over the enemy. His enemies are under His feet, and they have no legal authority to do anything in our lives. God is laughing at every attempt of the enemy because He knows that the enemy will fail.

We need to know and understand the power and authority that have been given to us through Jesus Christ and overpower any attempts of the enemy through the completed work of the cross, the blood of Jesus, and our testimony. The enemy doesn’t have any legal right to mess with our lives because Jesus has overcome sin, the power of darkness, and any legal curses and condemnations of the enemy.

The Word of God, Prayers, and Declarations

We need to know our position in Christ and enforce Jesus’ victory in our lives through prayers, declarations, and meditation on Bible verses, speaking the truth regarding our situations. We need to know and understand what the Bible says about our circumstances. If the enemy is trying to condemn us, we should look for Bible verses that declare that there is no condemnation for us in Christ Jesus; if the enemy is trying to afflict us with sickness, we should look for Bible verses that speak about our health through Jesus Christ; if the enemy is trying to make us feel like we are all alone, we should focus on Bible verses that talk about our family in Christ and how we were adopted into His family.

This is God’s truth about these situations. It doesn’t matter what your situation is, find out what the Bible says about it and feed on it, meditate on it until you believe it and it lives in your spirit. This is how this truth will become a reality in your life, and you will live a victorious life.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 NIV)

Praise and Worship

Another way to declare your victory in Christ Jesus is by remembering who He is. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He stands above any other thing on the Earth; He stands above any situation or circumstance. Every knee must bow before Him, and every tongue must confess that He is Lord. There is nothing that can stand next to Him or compare to Him. There is nothing that can remove Him from His throne. He has won and already overcome, and we get to enjoy His victory—not because of anything that we have done, but because of what He has done.

Worship Him for who He is, and lift Him up above any and every situation or circumstance. When we worship and lift Him up, hell shakes, chains break, and we are set free.

Praise is also your weapon. Paul and Silas were delivered from prison when they praised God. Use these weapons to set yourself free from any prison you may be in and from any chains that may hold you bound.

Armour of God

God has also given us the armour of God—the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the Gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. We need to put on the full armour of God to be able to withstand any fiery arrows the enemy may be throwing at us. What are the fiery darts thrown against us? These are negative thoughts, wrong thinking patterns, accusations, and lies of the enemy regarding our lives, our salvation, our purpose, our family, God’s promises, and any other things concerning us and what God has been speaking to us about.

We need to meditate on the armour of God to understand what each tool is for, so we know how to use it when the enemy is attacking us. I will not break it down here—maybe I will do a separate post about it—but do take the time to understand it. This is so powerful and needed in order to protect ourselves from the schemes of the enemy.

We can’t pretend that the enemy is not there, ignore him, or fail to acknowledge what he is doing, because he seeks to steal, kill, and destroy. And he will not hesitate to do it if we let him. The enemy is defeated but not weak—we can’t afford not to face what the enemy is doing. It is in our power to stop, nullify, and cancel every plan of the enemy. God will not do it for us. He gave us everything that we need to walk in victory, and we need to enforce it and walk in it.

Your intimacy with the Lord will not save you either. You need to know how to fight the enemy and come against any attacks of the enemy that are coming against you. I remember the first time I was attacked by the enemy like never before; I was shocked because I had such a close and good relationship with the Lord that I thought I was automatically protected. I learned that I was being attacked because I was doing something right, and not because I had done something wrong. It is through the battle that God taught me how to stand against the enemy and fight the battles for the Lord. He is with us always, but we will not escape the warfare—we all need to face it at some point. I am still in warfare, but I am taking ground from the enemy. I am not afraid because I know who is standing with me, and I am fighting from a place of victory. We are not fighting out of the need to win, but rather to take back what is rightfully ours.

I hope that this post has encouraged you that even if you are walking through the water and the fire, God knows, and He is still with you through any circumstance that you may be going through. Not only that, but He also gave you the power and authority to overcome what the enemy is throwing at you, so you can conquer and walk in victory through Jesus Christ! Continue to fight—there is victory on the other side.
